SUGAR LAND, TX — Street racing is illegal, reckless, and often deadly — a tragic truth underscored Saturday night when a high-speed race on Highway 6 ended in a fatal crash that claimed the life of an innocent driver.
The Sugar Land Police Department responded to the crash around 10 p.m., where witnesses reported that the drivers of a Ford Mustang and a BMW were racing at high speeds. During the incident, the Mustang violently collided with a Toyota Camry, killing the Camry’s driver, who was not involved in the race.
The driver of the Mustang, 20-year-old Roman Pollock of Fresno, TX, remained at the scene and was taken into custody. The driver of the BMW, 26-year-old Kamran Kamran of Houston, fled the scene but was later located by investigators. Both men now face serious charges: Pollock is charged with Manslaughter, while Kamran is charged with Manslaughter and Failure to Stop and Render Aid.
Authorities emphasized that the incident serves as a somber reminder of the deadly consequences of street racing. The Sugar Land Police Department remains committed to pursuing justice and protecting the community from reckless drivers.
“This is not just about speed — it’s about life and death,” said a spokesperson from the SLPD. “We will continue to aggressively investigate and prosecute those who put others at risk on our roads.”
The investigation is ongoing, and police are urging anyone with additional information or footage of the crash to come forward.
