Brunswick, Georgia – The community of Brunswick is mourning the loss of Evan Beard, 36, a devoted husband, father, and Operations Manager at Wake Up Coffee Company, who passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2025.
Evan was known not only for his professional excellence and tireless work ethic but also for his deep love for God, his family, and the people around him. His passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who knew him.
Born and raised in Brunswick, Evan attended Brunswick High School and went on to study at the College of Coastal Georgia. He was a proud alumnus and always carried a deep appreciation for the local community that shaped his life.
After college, Evan joined Wake Up Coffee Company, where his dedication and leadership helped the business grow and thrive. As Operations Manager, he was more than just a coworker—he was a mentor, a friend, and a source of unwavering support to everyone on the team.
But Evan’s greatest pride and joy was his family. He was a loving husband to Megan Beard and a devoted father to their children. Theirs was a partnership rooted in faith, service, and unconditional love.
Together, Evan and Megan led a youth ministry at HIS Ministries, guiding young people with compassion, grace, and authenticity. Their after-school youth group on Wednesdays became a place of refuge, laughter, and spiritual growth for many. Through their example, countless lives were touched and transformed.
HIS Ministries reflected on Evan’s passing with heartfelt words:
“Once upon a time there was a sweet young couple who loved God and loved people. They ran a youth group at HIS Ministries after school on Wednesdays, touching many lives.
This young couple got married and had children and have continued to love God and love people. Our community has been greatly influenced by their love and their story, and we at HIS are humbled and grateful that we got to have a small part in that story.”
Though Evan’s earthly journey ended far too soon, Megan shared a powerful truth in the wake of his passing: “He left behind his broken body and gained perfect wholeness as his faith became his sight.”
Evan’s story continues, not only in the eternal life he now embraces, but in the daily lives of Megan and their children, who remain steadfast in their mission to carry out the love of the Father.
Those who knew Evan remember his gentle strength, his joyful presence, and his willingness to serve others before himself. Whether through his work, his ministry, or his everyday kindness, Evan was a light in the lives of many.
The Brunswick community is rallying around the Beard family, lifting them in prayer and offering support during this difficult time. Evan’s legacy of love, faith, and service will live on in every life he touched and in every act of kindness inspired by his memory.
Details regarding a memorial service will be shared by the family in the coming days. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to HIS Ministries or to a local charity that supports youth and family outreach, causes that were deeply important to Evan.
Evan Beard will be dearly missed but never forgotten. His story continues through the love he gave so freely—and the love that continues to flow through his family and community.
