Jacob Carl Bresser, lovingly known as Jake to all who knew him, was born on November 7, 1995, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. His sudden passing on June 12, 2025, in St. Paul, Minnesota, has left a profound void in the hearts of family, friends, and colleagues alike.
Yet, Jake’s legacy of kindness, perseverance, and joy will continue to inspire everyone privileged enough to cross his path. From his earliest days, Jake exhibited a spirit defined by hard work, dedication, and an infectious love for life.
Raised in a close-knit family, he was nurtured with values that emphasized integrity, compassion, and the importance of community. These principles shaped his journey, both personally and professionally, helping him to build a life filled with purpose and meaning.
Jake’s academic and athletic accomplishments reflect his relentless drive and passion. A proud graduate of Eau Claire Memorial High School, he was a standout athlete on the hockey rink. His commitment and skill made him one of the most decorated players to wear the Old Abe jersey.
His love for hockey continued into his college years, where he captained the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire team and earned the prestigious NCAA Division III (ACHA) First Team All-American honors.
Balancing the demands of sport and study, Jake graduated in 2020 with dual majors in Finance and Accounting—an achievement showcasing both his intellectual prowess and work ethic.
Always eager to expand his knowledge, he recently completed a Master’s Degree in Personal Financial Planning, further solidifying his commitment to helping others secure their financial futures.
Professionally, Jake made his mark as a Certified Financial Planner with RBC Wealth Management. Over five years, his expertise and dedication earned him the respect of colleagues and clients alike.
Passing the rigorous SIE, Series 7, and 66 exams is a testament to his determination and sharp mind. Yet, beyond his professional skills, Jake was known for the genuine care and personal attention he gave to every person he served, building lasting relationships grounded in trust.
Jake’s personal life was equally rich and fulfilling. He was a devoted husband to Brielle, sharing a relationship filled with laughter, mutual respect, and countless small joys.
Their love story was punctuated by simple pleasures—long walks with their dog Lola, adventurous bike rides, and spirited games of cribbage (where Jake cheerfully kept score for Brielle), Scrabble, and cards.
Jake had a knack for turning ordinary moments into treasured memories, whether cooking new recipes (his cookies were a favorite), perfecting the art of making cortados, or tending lovingly to their lawn at their new home.
Their shared love of travel took them to many places, but Hawaii, their honeymoon destination, held a special place in their hearts. Family was central to Jake’s life. He adored his nephews—August, Henrik, and Roman—and delighted in spending time with them, whether helping with family dinners, playing board games, or enjoying ice cream outings.
His generosity was evident in everyday acts, from volunteering to do the dishes to ensuring dessert was served with a smile. Jake’s warm, witty, and selfless nature made him a pillar of strength and support not only for his family but also for his wide circle of friends.
Whether out on the golf course, competing in lively pickleball matches, or relaxing at the cabin on weekends, Jake’s presence brought joy and camaraderie to all.
Jake is survived by his loving wife, Brielle; his parents, Timothy and JulieAnne Bresser and Deb and Jim Brown; his siblings Casandra and Eric Hutchinson, Eryn and Nick Levin, Molly Bresser, and Carson Bresser; his in-laws Kurt and LeAnn Bjork, Reid and Kara Bjork, and Cole and Jagger Bjork; as well as his beloved nephews.
The family wishes to express their deep gratitude for the overwhelming outpouring of love and support from the community during this incredibly difficult time. The stories and memories shared are a testament to Jake’s profound impact and enduring spirit.
Though Jake’s light has dimmed, the warmth and brightness of his life will continue to shine in the hearts of all who loved him. His legacy teaches us to cherish our connections and to love fiercely, embracing life with the same passion and kindness he exemplified.
