It is with broken hearts and profound sorrow that we share the tragic passing of Kolbe Straw of Hummelstown, Pennsylvania. Kolbe died unexpectedly in a devastating accident, leaving behind his beloved wife Paige Straw, their young daughter Izzy, and their unborn child, due this September.
He was just 32 years old. Kolbe was a man defined by strength, dedication, and unwavering love for his family. He worked hard every single day to provide a life of stability, joy, and hope for the people he cherished most.
As a general foreman at Enerfab, Inc., a journeyman millwright with Millwright Local Union 443, and an employee at Goss Forestry, LLC, Kolbe embodied the values of grit and craftsmanship. He was proud of his work and never shied away from a challenge, whether on a job site or at home with his family.
Kolbe studied welding and construction management at Harrisburg Area Community College, where he developed the skills that would serve him throughout his career. A proud graduate of Lower Dauphin Senior High School, he carried the values of his hometown into everything he did—integrity, loyalty, and a deep sense of community.
But Kolbe’s greatest pride was his family. He adored his wife Paige, and their relationship was filled with love, laughter, and mutual respect. Their daughter Izzy was the light of his life, and he embraced every role—father, husband, protector, and provider—with his whole heart.
The family was preparing to welcome a new baby this fall, and Kolbe had been working tirelessly to remodel their home and prepare for the next chapter in their lives together.
Now, in the wake of this unimaginable loss, Paige finds herself a widow at just 32 years old, 28 weeks pregnant, and trying to make sense of life without the man who was her anchor and best friend.
Friends and loved ones have rallied around the Straw family, creating fundraisers to support Paige and Izzy through funeral expenses, home repairs, and the time Paige will need to take for maternity leave.
Kolbe was known for his kindness, generosity, and quiet determination. He never hesitated to help a neighbor, take on a project for a friend, or spend hours making sure something was done right.
His friends remember him as fiercely loyal and deeply humble—a man who led with actions more than words, and who could always be counted on in moments of need.
He was also a man of humor, joy, and deep emotional connection. Whether he was roughhousing with Izzy, surprising Paige with small acts of love, or sharing stories at work, Kolbe made people feel seen and valued.
His presence brought comfort, his laughter lifted spirits, and his absence is now felt with painful clarity. The community of Hummelstown, along with his friends, family, and coworkers, mourns this heartbreaking loss.
But Kolbe’s legacy will live on—in the strength of his wife, the resilience of his children, and the countless lives he touched with his hard work, honesty, and love.
In this time of mourning, we hold Paige, Izzy, and the Straw family close in our hearts. May Kolbe’s memory be a blessing, and may the love he gave so freely continue to carry his family forward.
Rest in peace, Kolbe Straw. You were deeply loved, and you will be missed more than words can say.
