James Michael Haynes (August 6, 1955 – June 27, 2025)
Last night, our beloved father, Mike Haynes, peacefully passed away at the age of 69. My brother, sister, and I were at his bedside with our mom as he took his final breath. After years of courageously battling Alzheimer’s, his struggle is over, and we take comfort in knowing he is now in a better place—free from pain and suffering.
Mike was known by many in the community as a dedicated teacher, basketball coach, and principal. He was also a passionate hunter, fisherman, storyteller, and jokester. But to us, he was simply “Pops.”
He leaves behind a loving family, including six grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life and lit up his eyes every time he saw them. He taught us so much—how to shoot a basketball, how to handle a firearm safely, and how to deliver the perfect punchline. More importantly, he taught us the values of honesty, loyalty, and hard work—lessons we will carry forward and pass on to our own children.
Though we will deeply miss him, we find peace in knowing we will be reunited with him one day in Heaven.
Rest in peace, Pops. We love you.
