
Family and friends of Michael Larry Urbani, 62, of Vancleave, Mississippi, are grieving deeply after his tragic death in a hit-and-run collision on Interstate 10 in Jackson County on the evening of June 25, 2025.The crash occurred around 8:48 p.m. westbound near mile markers 68–69, just before the Highway 63 overpass.
According to the Moss Point Police Department, Urbani was first struck from behind by a black Chevrolet Malibu while riding his motorcycle. The impact caused him to crash and fall into the roadway. As he lay on the pavement, a white 18-wheeler traveling in the same direction ran over him. Both vehicles fled the scene without stopping or rendering aid.
Friends describe Urbani as a devoted husband, father, and community stalwart in Vancleave. His passing has left a void among those who knew him for his warm nature, strong work ethic, and passionate love of motorcycling. “He was always ready with a helping hand and a friendly wave,” recalled a longtime acquaintance.
