ANDREWS, SC – Georgetown County Sheriff Carter Weaver has confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a violent domestic dispute that erupted in gunfire late Saturday night in the town of Andrews.
Tyquan Kevin Palmer, 20, of Circle Drive in Williamsburg County, has been arrested and charged with Attempted Murder, First-Degree Burglary, and four counts of Assault and Battery in the First Degree stemming from a disturbing confrontation with a woman at a residence on West Myrtle Road.
According to the sheriff’s office, Palmer is accused of unlawfully entering the woman’s home, physically assaulting her, and then stepping outside and firing multiple gunshots into the home—striking both a screen door and a wall. Authorities have not yet released details on whether anyone else was in the home or if additional injuries were reported.
The situation quickly drew a police response, and investigators were able to identify Palmer as the suspect. He was taken into custody without further incident and is currently being held at the Georgetown County Detention Center, where he awaits a bond hearing.
Sheriff Weaver emphasized the seriousness of the charges and commended the swift response by deputies. “This was a dangerous situation that could have had an even more tragic outcome,” he said. “We are thankful that no lives were lost and that the suspect is now in custody.”
