
Tragedy struck in two South Carolina counties on Sunday, leaving two people dead and others injured in separate vehicle crashes.
One person is dead following a single-vehicle accident in the town of Ulmer early Sunday morning. South Carolina Highway Patrol says the crash happened around 7:46 a.m. on U.S. Highway 301 near the intersection of Wells Branch Road.
According to troopers, a 2018 Honda Accord was heading north on U.S. 301 when it veered off the left side of the road and struck a tree. There were three people inside the car at the time of the crash.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while the two passengers were transported by EMS to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their conditions have not been released.
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the driver. WRDW/WAGT has reached out to the Allendale County Coroner’s Office for further details.
