
ST. LOUIS, MO – A tragic wrong-way crash on Interstate 55 last Friday evening has claimed the lives of two beloved members of the St. Louis community. Authorities have identified the victims as 63-year-old Dawn Tampow and 74-year-old Ralph Morse.
The crash occurred around 7:30 p.m. when Dawn Tampow, driving a gray Kia SUV, entered the northbound lanes of I-55 at Truman Parkway while heading southbound, according to police. She continued driving the wrong direction for approximately two miles before her vehicle collided head-on with Morse’s white Corvette near the Gasconade Street on-ramp. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Dawn Tampow is remembered as a devoted grandmother whose love for her family was matched only by her vibrant personality. She had a passion for life and was known for her compassion, warmth, and deep care for others.
Ralph Morse, described by friends and family as a “concert lover,” was known for his enthusiasm for music and the joy he found in live performances. At 74, he lived life with passion and maintained close ties with his community and loved ones.
