Very sad to share that my one and only sister Gisele Hetu passed away from cancer on 5 July. We were very close growing up, sharing giggles, travelling together, and leaning on each other as we moved to many different cities and countries. Sadly, as we grew older, we lived on different continents and our lives drifted apart.
Gigi lived with deep struggles, but she could also be bubbly, generous, and full of charm. To all who met her, she was unforgettable. Though we hadn’t been close in recent years, I will always cherish our earlier memories. Rest in peace, Gigi. May you be surrounded by love and happiness.
In the days since his death, an outpouring of love has filled social media platforms with photos, tributes, and personal stories celebrating his life. From longtime friends to fellow BTTB alumni, the message is clear: Brendan Wharton changed lives, and he will not be forgotten.
Honoring a Legacy of Compassion
A celebration of life is being planned to honor Brendan’s legacy and provide a space for the community to say goodbye. Details will be announced soon by his family and close friends. In the meantime, those wishing to show support are encouraged to live by the values Brendan held dear—compassion, humility, and love for others.
His light, though extinguished far too soon, continues to shine in every heart he touched.
May Brendan Wharton rest in peace. His journey may have ended, but his story will live on.
