
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Tallahassee Police Department is currently conducting a homicide investigation following a shooting that occurred around 2:40 a.m. on Sunday, July 6, 2025.
Officers were on scene at 3030 South Adams Street attempting to disperse a large crowd when gunfire erupted. Shortly after the shooting, officers located an adult male, identified as Marvin Williams, near the entrance of University Courtyard Apartments at 3025 South Adams Street. Williams was pronounced deceased at the scene from an apparent gunshot wound.
During the incident, officers observed another adult male actively firing a weapon. That individual was immediately taken into custody. Investigators are working to determine his involvement and whether others may be connected to the shooting.
This remains an open and active investigation. Detectives are urging anyone with information who did not speak to an officer on scene to come forward.
