
A woman has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly shooting her boyfriend during a domestic dispute in Miramar on Thursday evening, according to authorities.
Police said they responded to a reported shooting at a residence near the intersection of Southwest 172nd Avenue and Southwest 46th Street at approximately 5:11 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man who had sustained a gunshot wound.
Investigators identified the suspect as Chanicia Hernandez. According to the preliminary findings, Hernandez shot her live-in boyfriend during what authorities have described as a domestic-related incident.
The injured man was airlifted to Memorial Regional Hospital for treatment. As of Thursday night, his condition had not been released by hospital officials.
Police have confirmed that Hernandez was taken into custody at the scene and has since been charged with attempted murder. No further details about what led to the shooting have been disclosed, and the names of the victim and other individuals involved have not been made public.
