Fifteen-year-old Kobe Coogle has tragically passed away, leaving behind a heartbroken community that loved him deeply. His loss is profoundly felt by all who knew him, but especially by his devoted family—his mom and dad, his brother and sister, and the extended circle of relatives and friends who cherished him. Kobe was a son, a brother, and a bright light in the lives of so many.
His presence was one of warmth, humor, compassion, and boundless potential. Kobe was set to begin his sophomore year at Bullitt East High School, where he was known not just for his quick wit and intelligence but for the way he made others feel.
His kindness wasn’t performative—it was genuine, often revealed in the little things: the way he checked in on a friend, helped someone through a tough day, or simply listened.
Kobe had a heart that beat for others. He carried himself with humility and a natural gift for making people feel seen, heard, and loved. His friends remember him for his loyalty, his laughter, and his ability to brighten any room he walked into.
He was also deeply passionate about fitness and loved spending time at the gym. There was something therapeutic and motivating for him about pushing himself, staying strong, and encouraging others to do the same.
His gym routine was more than just physical training—it was a reflection of his discipline and his drive to become the best version of himself. That spirit of dedication spilled over into every part of his life, whether he was supporting a friend, playing sports, or cheering on his siblings.
Kobe was immensely proud of his younger brother and sister, who are part of the Colts & Mt. Washington Football & Cheer Association. He never missed a chance to support them—on the sidelines, in the stands, or just encouraging them at home.
He was their biggest fan, always there with a word of encouragement or a high-five after a game. His pride in them was genuine and vocal, and his support meant the world to his family.
Kobe’s connection to the Colts extended even further through his mom, who serves as a Colts cheer coach. The Coogle family has long been an active part of the local youth sports community, and Kobe was often a smiling, familiar face at games and events.
He brought so much heart and joy to those moments, always the one to lift others up and celebrate their successes as if they were his own. The loss of Kobe Coogle is deeply painful, not only because of the life he lived but also because of the incredible life he still had ahead of him.
He was thoughtful, funny, and full of dreams. Whether it was his plans for school, his time at the gym, or his constant support of his loved ones, Kobe embraced life with both hands. And in doing so, he made a lasting impact.
Though his time here was far too short, Kobe’s memory will live on—in the laughter he shared, the hugs he gave, the love he poured out so freely, and the light he left behind in every heart he touched.
His family, friends, teammates, and school community will carry his spirit forward, honoring him by living with the same kindness, strength, and love that he gave so freely. Rest in peace, Kobe. You are so loved, and you will never be forgotten.
