It is with deep sorrow and profound heartbreak that we announce the tragic passing of Andrea Jane Rawley of Wickford, Essex, who died alongside her beloved mother in a devastating car accident on the night of Monday, July 14, 2025. Andrea was 48 years old.
Andrea was known by many in the local community and beyond as the devoted proprietor of Lilliput Cattery and Small Animal Boarding, a sanctuary she lovingly built and maintained for countless pets over the years.
Her gentle, caring nature and passion for animals shone brightly in every aspect of her life. She provided peace of mind for pet owners and loving care for their furry family members—work she carried out not as a job, but as a heartfelt calling.
Originally from Benfleet, Andrea attended Appleton School, where she was remembered for her warmth, quick wit, and friendly personality. She eventually settled in Wickford, Essex, where she and her husband, Andy Rawley, raised their daughter Leah, creating a home full of love, laughter, and deep family bonds.
Andrea had a magnetic presence—her joy was contagious, her support unwavering, and her friendship a gift to those lucky enough to know her. She had a knack for lifting others up with her kind words, heartfelt encouragement, and genuine interest in those around her.
Friends describe her as beautiful inside and out, someone whose laughter filled rooms and whose empathy touched hearts. The news of Andrea’s passing has sent shockwaves through the community.
One friend shared, “Words cannot express the void you have left behind in mine and so many people’s hearts! Absolutely heartbreaking to hear that my friend Andrea and her mum have passed away. She was a wonderful friend, always so encouraging, supportive, and beautiful. Her laughter was infectious and I will miss her so much.”
In addition to her tireless devotion to animals and her work at Lilliput Cattery, Andrea was also deeply committed to her family and friends. Her bond with her daughter Leah was one of immense pride and love, and her relationship with Andy was built on years of shared joy, resilience, and mutual respect.
The strength of their family unit was clear to all who knew them. Andrea’s sudden departure leaves behind a community in mourning and a family whose world has been shattered.
She is survived by her husband Andy, daughter Leah, and a wide circle of relatives, friends, and loyal clients whose lives she enriched with her kindness and compassion.
In the days ahead, there will be opportunities to honour Andrea’s life, her love for animals, and her legacy of care, warmth, and joy. Though her life was cut short far too soon, the impact she made during her time with us will never be forgotten.
May Andrea Jane Rawley be remembered not only for her work, but for the light she brought into every life she touched. She will be missed more than words can ever truly convey.
