Louisiana State Police are investigating a single-vehicle crash that claimed the life of a Ville Platte teenager earlier this week.
The crash happened shortly after 10 p.m. on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, on U.S. Highway 167 near Filly Lane in Evangeline Parish. Troopers say 19-year-old Brian Walker was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado northbound when, for reasons still under investigation, the truck ran off the left side of the roadway while negotiating a right-hand curve. The vehicle then overturned.
Walker, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time, suffered serious injuries. He was transported to a local hospital where he later died.
State Police say impairment is suspected, and toxicology samples have been collected for further analysis.
The crash remains under investigation as troopers continue working to determine the contributing factors that led to the deadly incident.
