The Iowa State University community is grieving the sudden and unexpected passing of Rachel Maucieri, a cherished member of the ISU Dance Team, also known as the Spirit Squad.

Rachel served on the team’s Social Committee, where she was admired not only for her talent and dedication but also for her warmth, leadership, and the way she brought people together. Teammates describe her as a beloved friend and an uplifting presence whose impact on the team extended far beyond the dance floor.
In addition to her involvement with ISU Dance, Rachel was pursuing her professional career. She worked in West Des Moines as part of the Sales Development Program at Pella Corporation, where colleagues respected her drive, positivity, and professionalism.
Rachel also shared her passion for dance outside of the university setting. She was a former dance instructor at Bold Dance by Peach, where she inspired and mentored younger dancers, leaving a legacy of encouragement and love for the art form.
Her sudden passing has left a deep void among her family, friends, teammates, and coworkers. The ISU Dance Team expressed heartbreak at the loss of one of their own, noting Rachel’s role as both a leader and friend within the Spirit Squad family.
As the community mourns, Rachel will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her leadership, and her devotion to the people and passions she held close to her heart.
