
A student at Branham High School in San Jose was critically injured Friday after jumping from a two-story building on campus, according to school officials.
The incident occurred shortly before midday at the campus, located at 1570 Branham Lane. In response, the school was immediately placed on lockdown as first responders arrived at the scene to provide medical assistance.
In a message to parents, the Campbell Union High School District confirmed the lockdown and later announced it had been lifted once authorities determined the campus was safe.
The student was transported to a local hospital, where she is currently listed in critical but stable condition, officials said.
