A tragic crash along Interstate 10 claimed the life of Patricia Saidu, 21, of Baton Rouge, late Tuesday night.

According to Louisiana State Police, the fatal collision occurred around 11 p.m. when an SUV entered I-10 from U.S. 51 traveling the wrong way and struck Saidu’s vehicle head-on. The impact caused both vehicles to catch fire.
Saidu was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the SUV was transported to a nearby hospital with severe injuries.
Troopers confirmed that toxicology samples were collected from both drivers as part of the ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash.
The fiery collision marks yet another devastating incident on Louisiana highways, where wrong-way crashes remain a serious safety concern.
