One man is dead following a single-vehicle crash Tuesday night in Floyd County. The victim has been identified as Mike Starnes of Prestonsburg, Kentucky.
Mike Starnes of Prestonsburg Killed in Floyd County Crash
Kentucky State Police Pikeville Post reported being notified of the crash on Route 404 at David at 6:42 p.m. The initial investigation determined that Starnes was operating a 2020 Buick Encore when the vehicle left the roadway and went over an embankment.
Starnes was pronounced dead at the scene by the Floyd County Coroner’s Office.
The collision remains under investigation by Trooper Hunter Kidd, who was assisted at the scene by Post 9 personnel, the David Volunteer Fire Department, and Lifeguard Ambulance Service.
