It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of 35-year-old Rafael William Smith Polanco, of West Point, Virginia, who tragically lost his life in a single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning, October 25, 2025, in King William County.
According to the Virginia State Police, the crash occurred around 4:00 a.m. in the 14000 block of West River Road. Rafael was driving a black Ram 1500 eastbound when the vehicle ran off the left side of the road and struck several trees before coming to rest. He was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene. Authorities confirmed that he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Rafael will be remembered for his kind heart, hardworking spirit, and the love he shared with his family and friends. His sudden passing has left those who knew him heartbroken, but his memory will forever live on in the lives he touched.
