Authorities have identified one of the victims in Wednesday night’s fatal shooting outside a convenience store and gas station in Bordentown Township. The Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that 22-year-old Mason Knott, originally from Columbus, New Jersey, was among the two men killed. Knott was a graduate of Northern Burlington County Regional High School.

The shooting occurred around11:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the 7-Eleven Valero gas station located along the 200 block of Route 130 at Farnsworth Avenue. Police were alerted after one victim, suffering from gunshot wounds, entered the store seeking help.
When officers arrived, they found two men who had been shot. Knott was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim, a 21-year-old man, was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries. His identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
Investigators placed numerous evidence markers around a red pickup truck, which was found running in the parking lot. The vehicle’s connection to the incident remains unclear, and authorities have not confirmed whether it belonged to either victim or the suspect.
According to the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office, the suspect fled the scene in a Jeep, which was later found crashed in Florence Township. The suspect, however, remains at large.
“At this stage of the investigation, it is believed that this was not a random attack,v” the prosecutor’s office said in a statement. No motive has yet been determined.
