Hearts are heavy across Delaware and Maryland as family and friends mourn the loss of Aidan Daniel Thompson, a 21-year-old from Middletown, Delaware, who tragically lost his life in a single-vehicle crash late Sunday night.

According to the Cecil County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened around 7 p.m. along Bohemia Church Road in Warwick. Investigators say Aidan was driving a 2019 Ford F-250 eastbound when he suddenly lost control. The truck crossed into the opposite lane, left the roadway, and struck a tree with devastating force.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene and transported Aidan to Christiana Hospital in Newark, Delaware. Despite the best efforts of medical personnel, he was sadly pronounced deceased. His passenger, a 19-year-old woman, miraculously escaped without injury. Authorities believe speed, foggy weather, and distracted driving were contributing factors in the crash.
The loss of Aidan has left a deep void in the hearts of everyone who knew him. Friends describe him as vibrant, funny, and kind — someone who could make even the hardest days brighter. His laughter was contagious, and his heart was always open to those around him.
