Police in Maple Grove are investigating a shooting that left one person critically injured at the Benihana restaurant on Fountains Way Friday evening.
Emergency crews responded to the Japanese steakhouse, located at 11840 Fountains Way, after receiving a report of gunfire inside the business. When officers arrived, they located a victim suffering from life-threatening injuries.
Medical personnel provided treatment at the scene before the victim was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Authorities have not released the victim’s identity.
Maple Grove Police confirmed that no arrests have been made at this time, and investigators are working to determine the circumstances leading up to the shooting. Officers were seen interviewing witnesses, reviewing surveillance footage, and securing the surrounding area as part of the ongoing investigation.
The restaurant was temporarily closed Friday night as detectives processed the scene.
