The Waco Police Department has identified 40-year-old Thomas Earl Talton as the man who was fatally shot on Colcord Avenue early Monday morning. His passing marks the tenth homicide in Waco in 2025, a tragic loss for the community and his loved ones.
The incident occurred at approximately 1:20 a.m. on November 17. Officers responded to the 2100 block of Colcord Avenue after receiving a report of an unresponsive individual. Upon arrival, Mr. Talton was found with a gunshot wound. Despite immediate life-saving efforts by police and emergency personnel, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
At this time, no suspect has been apprehended. Detectives are treating the case as a top-priority homicide investigation and are working to gather evidence, determine a motive, and identify those responsible.
The Waco Police Department is asking anyone with information to come forward. Tips can be submitted anonymously through Waco Crime Stoppers at 254-753-4357, and those leading to an arrest may qualify for a reward of up to $2,000.
