Oregon State Police are investigating a tragic single-vehicle crash that claimed the life of 22-year-old Akahieleu Redo of Oregon City on Sunday morning, November 16, 2025. The crash occurred at approximately 8:39 a.m. along Highway 224 near milepost 14.
According to investigators, Redo was traveling westbound on a Yamaha R6 when he lost control while navigating a curve, causing the motorcycle to veer off the roadway. The bike struck a mound of dirt with significant force, launching both the motorcycle and the rider into the air before coming to rest in a nearby tree.
Emergency personnel arrived quickly, but Redo had sustained fatal injuries on impact and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Highway 224 was partially closed for nearly two hours as troopers examined the crash site and crews worked to clear the area. Oregon State Police were assisted by the Clackamas Brush Fire Unit 312 and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
The community mourns the sudden and heartbreaking loss of a young life along this rural stretch of roadway, as investigators continue working to determine the full circumstances surrounding the crash.
