Police are appealing to the public for information after 23-year-old Sid Sefton died following a single-vehicle crash on the B1230 in the early hours of Friday, November 21, 2025.
According to reports, the collision occurred around 3:20 a.m., when the driver of a blue Ford traveling eastbound towards Gilberdyke left the roadway and struck a tree. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, and Sefton was taken to hospital for urgent treatment but was later pronounced dead.
Authorities confirmed that Sefton’s family has been notified and is receiving support from specialist trained officers during this difficult time.
Police are urging anyone who witnessed the crash—or who may have relevant dashcam footage—to contact 101 and reference log 38 of November 21, 2025, to assist with the ongoing investigation.
