SANTA CLARA, California — Emergency crews responded Friday evening to reports of a shooting at Westfield Valley Fair Mall, prompting a large law enforcement and medical response.
According to initial dispatch information, multiple 911 callers reported that at least two individuals had been shot inside the mall.
Emergency Medical Services units were staged nearby as officers worked to secure the scene.
Witnesses reported seeing a trail of blood near the Macy’s department store, though the total number of victims has not yet been confirmed.
Santa Clara Police and other responding agencies began clearing and securing the area shortly after receiving the calls.
