It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of CCSD Officer Bryan Zapp. Officer Zapp was more than a friendly face—he was a source of pure joy for so many Last school year, we were fortunate to have Officer Zapp join us for a couple of our BGSA Character Greetings.
He never hesitated to jump into the fun—posing for photos, goofing around with the characters, and offering encouragement to those shy students who needed a little extra courage to meet their favorite princesses and superheroes. His presence turned ordinary moments into unforgettable memories.
We are incredibly lucky to have experienced the joy, kindness, and light that Officer Zapp carried with him everywhere he went. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and the entire CCSD community during this difficult time.
With the heaviest heart, I wanted to post for those who don’t know, Harley’s former softball coach, who was also a police officer, veteran, and remarkable father to his daughter, Harley’s friend, Kyndal; Bryan William Zapp passed away. He and I gained such a good friendship recently and I truly am at a loss for words at how devastating this news is. We’ve lost a truly wonderful person by losing him, and we should all try and take some time to honor him and do something to benefit his family somehow.
