South Mammoth Road in Manchester was closed for much of the day Saturday as New Hampshire State Police Major Crime investigators responded to an officer-involved shooting. According to Manchester Police, officers were dispatched early Saturday for a report of a suspicious vehicle. When police arrived, the vehicle fled and a short pursuit followed.
Investigators believe the vehicle accelerated out of the Green Acres School parking lot and crossed Mammoth Road before leaving the roadway. The vehicle then drove through a residential yard and into a wooded area, eventually crashing into a fence.

Police say the suspect ran from the vehicle and entered the woods, where he confronted officers. During that encounter, the suspect was shot by police. Medical aid was administered at the scene before the individual was transported to Elliot Hospital, where he later died.
A black Manchester police cruiser was positioned near the fence line where the vehicle came to rest. The car involved, believed to be a Honda, carried Massachusetts commercial license plates, according to officials.
An autopsy was expected to be completed over the weekend. The New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office is expected to release additional updates as the investigation continues.
