PUEBLO, Colo. — The Pueblo community is mourning the tragic loss of 31-year-old Flor Granillo, who was killed in a hit-and-run accident on Interstate 25 near the 13th Street exit ramp in the early hours of December 10, 2025. The Pueblo County Coroner confirmed Granillo’s identity, and the cause and manner of death are pending the results of the official autopsy.
According to the Pueblo Police Department (PPD), the fatal incident occurred shortly after 11:53 p.m. on December 9, when officers were dispatched to a traffic accident involving a pedestrian on southbound I-25, between Martin Luther King Jr. Bypass and 13th Street. Upon arrival, officers found Granillo deceased in the roadway south of a crashed Honda Civic.
Investigators determined that the Honda had struck a jersey barricade and came to a rest in the left lane. After exiting the vehicle, Granillo and another individual were struck by a passing vehicle that did not stop, causing her fatal injuries. The other individual survived and is cooperating with authorities. Multiple bystanders had initially stopped to render aid before first responders arrived.
Traffic Investigators and CSI Detectives responded to the scene, temporarily closing the interstate to process the crash and gather evidence. The driver responsible for the hit-and-run remains at large, and authorities continue to actively search for the vehicle and any witnesses who may provide leads.
Pueblo Police have classified this tragic event as the 21st fatal crash of the year in the area. The department continues to ask anyone with information about the hit-and-run to contact the Pueblo Police Department to assist in bringing the responsible party to justice.
