CHICAGO — A 24-year-old man was fatally shot early Saturday morning in Chicago’s East Garfield Park neighborhood, according to the Chicago Police Department. The shooting occurred at approximately 3:06 a.m. in the 700 block of North Lawndale Avenue on the city’s West Side.
Police said the victim sustained a gunshot wound to the chest.
Authorities reported that the man was transported to Stroger Hospital by friends rather than by emergency responders.
Despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
The victim has been identified as Glo Shug.
No further identifying details have been released.
Chicago police stated that witnesses at the scene have not been cooperative, which has hindered the investigation.
