What began as a dispute over loud noise ended in deadly violence early Sunday morning on the city’s West Side. San Antonio police say a man was killed after a confrontation over a noise complaint escalated into a shooting in the 300 block of Cincinnati Avenue near Fredericksburg Road. The incident happened around 5:15 a.m. on December 21, leaving one man dead and another facing serious criminal charges.
According to a police report, Paul Flores went to a residence in the area to confront tenants about loud noise coming from the home. Investigators said the interaction quickly became heated, with a verbal argument breaking out in the front yard. The situation then turned physical and spilled into the street, escalating rapidly in the early morning darkness as tensions flared between the men involved.
Police say that during the confrontation, Flores allegedly pulled out a handgun and fired multiple shots at another man. The victim was struck several times in the body and collapsed at the scene. Officers responding to the call found him suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds and immediately began providing emergency aid. Paramedics rushed the man to a nearby hospital, but despite life-saving efforts, he later died from his injuries. No other injuries were reported in the incident.
Friends and family later identified the victim as Edward Trejo. Loved ones described him as a man full of laughter, kindness, and love who left a lasting impression on everyone he met. In the hours following his death, a GoFundMe page was created to help support his family during the devastating loss. The fundraiser described Trejo as someone whose warmth and spirit touched many lives and emphasized the family’s desire to honor him with dignity and care.
