A California woman who previously made headlines for allegedly hiring a hitman to kill her estranged husband was found dead outside a popular bar in San Diego’s Little Italy neighborhood, authorities confirmed. Tatyana Remley, 44, was discovered outside the Princess Pub & Grille, where police later determined she died by suicide from a gunshot wound. Her death has shocked many and reopened painful memories tied to a case that once drew national attention.
Remley’s estranged husband, Mark Remley, said the two spoke shortly before her death. According to him, Tatyana called him that night while she was out and complained about a man she was with. Mark said she FaceTimed him from a bathroom stall and appeared upset. “She told me, ‘I’m with this guy and he’s being a jerk,’” he recalled. Concerned for her safety, Mark urged her to leave and offered to get help if she needed it.
Mark said he asked whether she wanted him to call 911 or send someone to assist her. He told her clearly that help was available if she felt unsafe. According to him, Tatyana replied, “No, I got this,” before ending the call. That brief conversation would be the last time the two ever spoke. Mark said he had no idea that anything more serious was about to happen.
When Tatyana did not return home or contact anyone afterward, Mark grew worried. The next day, he contacted the San Diego Sheriff’s Department and filed a missing person report. Authorities later located her outside the bar in Little Italy, confirming that she had died during the overnight hours.
