Police are investigating a violent home-invasion shooting after four armed suspects wearing masks kicked in a door and opened fire during a chaotic incident that unfolded late [day/time not yet released].
According to initial reports, the four masked men forced their way into the residence before shots were fired. During the incident, one of the suspects was shot in the hand. The group fled the scene in a silver vehicle immediately after the shooting.
Officers quickly responded and launched a search for the suspects. Three of the four individuals were located near the Cigar Ridge Apartments following a foot pursuit and were taken into custody without further incident.
Authorities say the fourth suspect later arrived at Ball Memorial Hospital seeking treatment for a gunshot wound to the hand, consistent with injuries sustained during the shooting. Police were notified and the individual was detained for questioning.
Investigators are continuing to determine the motive behind the armed home invasion and whether the suspects were targeting a specific individual or location. No additional injuries to residents have been confirmed at this time.
