The Odessa community is mourning the tragic loss of Carlos Martinez De Jesus, 36, who was killed in a motorcycle crash early Saturday morning, December 27, 2025, at the intersection of 91st Street and Andrews Highway.
According to the Odessa Police Department, officers responded at approximately 7:50 a.m. to reports of a major collision involving a motorcycle. Investigators said Martinez De Jesus was traveling northbound on Andrews Highway when a black GMC pickup truck, operated by 35-year-old Jose Ybarra, was traveling westbound on 91st Street. Police stated that Ybarra failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign, causing the pickup to enter the intersection where it was struck by the motorcycle.
Martinez De Jesus suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Authorities confirmed that next of kin were notified of his passing.
The sudden loss has left family, friends, and loved ones grieving a life cut short. As news of the tragedy spread, many reflected on the fragility of life and the lasting impact Carlos leaves behind in the hearts of those who knew him.
