BRONX, N.Y. — A 15-year-old Crosby High School student from Waterbury, Connecticut, was killed and another 14-year-old boy injured in a shooting inside an NYCHA building in the Bronx on Saturday evening.
Police said the incident occurred at approximately 6:25 p.m. on December 27, 2025, at 1219 Adee Avenue, within the 49th Precinct. Officers responded to a 911 call reporting shots fired and found Eric Aitken, 15, with a gunshot wound to the chest. They also located a 14-year-old boy suffering from a gunshot wound to the left arm.
EMS transported Eric Aitken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead. The 14-year-old boy was taken to the same hospital by police in a marked vehicle and was listed in stable condition.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the shooting to contact the 49th Precinct.
The Bronx community and the Crosby High School community are reeling from the tragedy, mourning the loss of a young life and hoping for justice in the ongoing investigation.
