Union County, South Carolina, is mourning the loss of Donnie Bisco Todd, 69, whose life was tragically cut short in a fatal pedestrian crash on Interstate 85 on the evening of Saturday, January 10, 2026.
According to the Greenville County Coroner’s Office, the incident occurred around 7:00 p.m. on southbound I-85 just before Exit 48B/A in Greenville County. Authorities say multiple 9-1-1 calls were received reporting a pedestrian struck by a vehicle in the roadway.
Investigators determined that Donnie Bisco Todd, a resident of Union County, was standing in the roadway when he was struck by a southbound vehicle. Emergency responders arrived quickly and attempted life-saving measures, but despite their efforts, Todd was pronounced dead at 7:11 p.m. at the scene by paramedics.
The Greenville County Coroner’s Office and the Greenville City Police Department are jointly investigating the crash. At this time, authorities have not released information about the driver involved, and it remains unclear whether charges will be filed.
As part of the ongoing investigation, an external examination is scheduled for Monday, January 12, 2026. The cause and manner of death are currently pending until that examination is completed.
