A 45-year-old man is hospitalized after being shot during a drive-by attack outside the Silver Dollar Bar on Bay Road, Orange Valley, Couva, late Wednesday night.
The incident occurred around 8:20 p.m. on November 20, when the victim was seated outside the bar alongside the business owner. According to police, a silver Nissan Tiida (PDS-1732) pulled up beside them before two gunmen—one in the front passenger seat and another in the rear—pointed firearms and opened fire.
Witnesses reported hearing several loud gunshots before the victim collapsed to the ground. The vehicle fled west, then turned east moments later, while the injured man took refuge inside the bar. The suspects remain at large.
A patron transported the victim to the Couva Health Facility, where he received emergency treatment before being transferred to San Fernando General Hospital for further care.
Authorities have not disclosed a motive, and investigators continue to review evidence and track leads.
