Authorities have confirmed that both the fiancé and sister of Rebecca Kay Park were taken into custody late last night.
At this time, specific charges have not been publicly disclosed. Additional details are expected to be released as the investigation continues.
Rebecca Kay Park was last seen on the night of November 3rd near her mother’s residence in Boon Township, Michigan.
According to early reports, she was allegedly observed entering a dark-colored vehicle. However, investigators have received conflicting accounts regarding the exact description of the vehicle from her mother, Cortney, who was reportedly the last known person to see her.
Following Rebecca’s disappearance, Cortney sent a series of urgent text messages to Richard Lee Falor, the father of Rebecca’s unborn child and Cortney’s former partner.
Despite not having a close relationship, the messages appeared frantic and included statements such as:
“Call me back asap”
“Rich it’s Cortney call me back”
“Dude call me”
“Ur ole lady took off with some dude in a black car”
In the days immediately following Rebecca’s disappearance, her cell phone was recovered on a nearby roadway—located by her mother.
The discovery, combined with earlier inconsistencies, has led to ongoing speculation surrounding Cortney’s involvement or knowledge prior to police locating Rebecca.
Online records and discussions indicate that both Cortney and Falor have prior criminal histories, including offenses related to sexual assault; however, officials have not confirmed whether those histories are relevant to the current investigation.
After 21 days missing, Rebecca was tragically found deceased.
Her body was located by her father during a search effort, only a short distance from the residence where she was last seen.
Reports indicate her body was discovered approximately 15 feet off the roadway and appeared to have been dragged to the location.
Rebecca was nine months pregnant at the time of her death.
Authorities have confirmed that the baby was not found with her, and details regarding the infant’s status remain unclear.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
Officials are expected to release further information regarding the arrests and potential charges as evidence is processed and autopsy results are completed.
Anyone with additional information related to the case is encouraged to contact law enforcement.
