TRAGIC DEVELOPING STORY: Former DPWH Undersecretary Found Dead Near Bued River After Mysterious Disappearance
Police are continuing their investigation into the tragic death of former DPWH Undersecretary Maria Catalina Cabral, who is believed to have jumped into the Bued River in Camp 6, Camp 4 Barangay, Tuba, Benguet.
Based on the police’s initial investigation, at around 3:00 PM, while the former official was traveling with her driver in the said area, she asked the driver to stop by the roadside and requested to be left alone,the driver reportedly left the official at the roadside.
At around 5:00 PM, the driver returned to where the former DPWH official was supposed to be, only to discover that she was already missing.
He searched for her but was unable to find her.
He immediately returned to their hotel in Baguio City, where they were staying, but she was not there.
At around 7:00 PM, he went back again to the said location but still could not find her, prompting him to seek assistance from the police.
During the search operation, police found the official by the riverside, lying face down and lifeless, believed to have fallen from an estimated 30-meter height.
She was declared dead,At present, the remains of the former official are at a funeral parlor in Baguio City.
