HOUSTON — Houston police have charged a suspect in connection with a deadly shooting at a taco truck in north Houston earlier this month.

The victim has been identified as Yaddua Barraza Hernandez, 36.
Investigators said the shooting happened at a taco truck as the victim was closing up for the night. Police said patrol officers responded to reports of a shooting and found an unresponsive man inside the truck with a gunshot wound. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
Police said the victim’s family’s concerns grew when he didn’t come home. They went to the location and found his body inside the truck.
According to homicide investigators, two men walked up to the business. One suspect fired a shot into the truck, while the second suspect took money from the location. Both suspects initially ran from the scene.
Investigators later identified Saldivar-James as the suspect who fired the shot. He was arrested on Monday, Dec. 8, and subsequently charged, police said.
