A fatal shooting occurred early Friday morning in Leesville, resulting in the death of 21-year-old Kavin Simmons Jr.
According to the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office, deputies and emergency personnel responded at approximately 12:25 a.m. on December 5, 2025, to a residence on Hughes Road near West Hawthorne Road after receiving a 911 call about a shooting.
Upon arrival, deputies found Simmons suffering from a single gunshot wound to the chest. Despite life-saving efforts by first responders and deputies on the scene, Simmons was pronounced dead at the residence.
