Authorities are continuing to investigate a fatal shooting that occurred Saturday at a residence on Elizabeth Avenue in Paulsboro, according to officials with the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office.
Law enforcement agencies were dispatched to the home after receiving reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers discovered multiple victims inside the residence suffering from gunshot injuries. Two people were pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators believe a man shot his wife and daughter before turning the weapon on himself. The man was pronounced dead at the location.
A second victim was also pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities confirmed that another victim survived the incident after sustaining a gunshot wound to the torso. She was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Her current condition has not been released.
The intersection of Cook Street and Elizabeth Avenue was closed for several hours as investigators secured the scene and collected evidence. Multiple law enforcement agencies responded and remain involved as the investigation continues.
The incident has left the neighborhood in shock. Neighbors described the family as kind, friendly, and well-known in the community. Several residents said the family regularly greeted neighbors and were known for their warm demeanor, making the tragedy especially difficult for those who lived nearby.
Officials have not released the identities of the victims as notifications to family members continue. Rebecca Forand, public information officer for the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office, said additional details will be provided as more information becomes available. Authorities emphasized that the investigation remains active.
