RICHMOND, Va. — Authorities have identified the victim in a fatal shooting that occurred Tuesday night on Hull Street Road as Porshia Williams, 34, of Richmond. According to the Richmond Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 8:57 p.m. to the 2700 block of Hull Street Road following reports of a domestic disturbance. The call was later upgraded to a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers located Williams inside a structure, unresponsive. She was pronounced dead at the scene after suffering an apparent gunshot wound, police said.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the official cause and manner of death.
Detectives with the Richmond Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit are actively investigating the case and are working to locate a known male believed to have been present at the scene at the time of the shooting.
