It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we remember Michael Dieker, 41, of Kansas City, who tragically lost his life on Friday, October 24, 2025, in a two-vehicle crash on the South Lawrence Trafficway (Kansas Highway 10/US-40) near West 27th Street and Iowa Street in Lawrence, Kansas. Michael’s sudden passing has left an unfillable void for his family, friends, and all who knew him.
Michael was traveling eastbound in a 2019 Kia Forte when his vehicle was struck by a westbound 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by 21-year-old Eliseo Munoz of Lawrence, who reportedly crossed left of the center line. Despite wearing his safety restraint, Michael suffered fatal injuries at the scene, while Munoz was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. The crash prompted a multi-hour closure of the highway and an investigation led by the Kansas Highway Patrol.
