The Sand Springs community is heartbroken following the tragic loss of 21-year-old Elijah David Crisp, who passed away on Monday, October 20, 2025, after a fatal collision involving his electric bicycle and a semi-truck along Highway 97, just north of Highway 51.
According to the Sand Springs Police Department, the accident occurred near the turn-around area, just south of the bridge. Emergency responders arrived swiftly after receiving reports of the crash, but despite their best efforts, Elijah sadly did not survive his injuries. The driver of the semi-truck remained at the scene and fully cooperated with authorities as they began their investigation, with assistance from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Elijah’s passing has left an immeasurable void in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who knew him. Those close to him describe Elijah as a kind-hearted, adventurous, and bright young man, full of dreams and compassion.
