Man shot dead, another wounded outside San Juan bar; gun attack caught on CCTV — off-duty cop shoots, chases but loses Suspect
A 31-year-old man was shot and killed during a brazen gun attack outside a bar in San Juan on Friday night, while two other men were injured, including an off-duty police officer who briefly pursued the gunman.
The deceased has been identified as Mickel Browne of Champ Fleurs, Mt. Dor.
Police said that around 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2025, Browne was liming with friends in an open area outside King Style Bar, located at the corner of Bridge Road and the Eastern Main Road, San Juan.
Investigations revealed that a gunman approached the group from behind along Bridge Road and opened fire, striking Browne several times. Browne reportedly stumbled away seeking help from nearby patrons as the gunman fled the scene on foot in a southerly direction along Bridge Road.
An off-duty police officer, who was part of the group, reportedly gave chase and discharged one round from his licensed firearm in the direction of the fleeing suspect. The gunman, however, managed to escape.
Browne was assisted by patrons and rushed to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, where he was treated by medical staff but later pronounced dead at 9:10 p.m.
During the incident, another man standing nearby along Bridge Road was also struck by gunfire, receiving a wound to his lower back. He was transported to hospital by police and later listed in stable condition.
Police confirmed that CCTV footage capturing the shooting outside the bar was reviewed as part of the investigation.
Crime Scene Investigators processed the area and recovered one spent 9mm shell casing and blood evidence.
