The passing of Ted Swagerty, born February 10, 1985, and departed from us on November 20, 2025, has left an immeasurable void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. A beloved son, brother, uncle, friend, and undeniably the life of every room he walked into, Ted’s spirit illuminated the lives around him with warmth, laughter, and unforgettable energy.
Ted lived a life rooted in hard work, loyalty, and genuine connection. As an apprentice electrician at EC Electric and a dedicated worker at Rip City Mushrooms, he approached every day with enthusiasm and integrity. Whether he was learning new skills on the job or lending a hand to those who needed one, Ted carried a work ethic shaped by humility and heart—traits admired by everyone who had the privilege to know him.
Though he called Portland home, Ted’s journey began in Roseburg, Oregon, where the foundations of his compassion, humor, and resilience were first formed. Those who knew him best will forever remember his wit, his adventurous spirit, and his ability to find humor even in life’s unexpected moments. The story of his honor walk this morning—complete with the ambulance tire catching on a curb in a moment so perfectly “Teddy”—is a testament to the way he continued bringing smiles even as we said goodbye.
