Police in Harrow are investigating a tragic incident at St. George’s Shopping Centre on Friday evening after a teenage boy was found unresponsive outside the mall.
Witnesses reported seeing emergency services rush to the scene after the teen fell from an upper level of the shopping centre’s parking structure. Officers quickly cordoned off the area and urged shoppers to avoid the vicinity while first responders assessed the situation.
The young person, identified only as a student from Whitmore High School, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not released the student’s name due to his age and ongoing family notifications.
Police remained outside the mall for several hours as they gathered witness statements and reviewed CCTV footage to determine the full circumstances of the incident.
In a statement released late Friday, Whitmore High School described the death as a “devastating tragedy” and said support would be made available to students and staff affected by the news.
Harrow Police say their investigation is ongoing but confirmed that no suspicious circumstances are currently suspected.
